Cucina Chianti is owned by husband-and-wife: Mark and Bonnie Robertson.
They’ve combined their skills.
Mark Robertson is a native of South Africa, where he owned a restaurant and the food concession for the country’s racehorse tracks.
And Bonnie Robertson is an interior designer, as are her son and daughter: Michael, who owns Agins & Associates in San Francisco, and Kendal, who owns Kendal Agins Interiors in Belvedere.
With Bonnie taking the lead, the three interior designers redid the interior of the former Capra’s. After the building was gutted and made handicap-accessible, they chose the type of seating and the interior’s color scheme and added design touches such as community-seating tables from Restoration Hardware made of old trestle material and mirrors framed with wood from a Montana barn.
